What we do

NRCG provides in-person and online facilitation services for processes ranging from small working groups to large, multi-party workshops and engagements. Our work includes process design, facilitation of complex conversations, and clear reporting. We work with our clients to tailor our approach to their needs and are comfortable adapting the tools we use as the process unfolds. The nature of our facilitation work includes strategic planning, technical sessions, information sharing, and public engagements.

Examples of past projects

Technical Advisory Committee for the assessment of the Faro Mine Remediation project

We co-facilitated a series of online technical sessions for parties involved in the assessment of the proposed Faro Mine remediation project (e.g., affected First Nations, Government of Canada, Government of Yukon, YESAB). In addition to facilitating the sessions, we also provided support for process design and drafted meeting materials (e.g., agendas, meeting summaries).

Flock of Birds

Tagish River Habitat Protection Area Implementation Workplan

In the Tagish River Habitat Protection Area, we worked with a committee made up of First Nation, territorial, and federal governments and related boards and committees to develop a workplan for implementing management actions in the area.

Wetland Creation

Yukon Wetland Policy public engagement

We developed a workshop to discuss a draft wetlands policy with government, NGO, and industry representatives. We prepared relevant workshop materials and co-facilitated the workshop itself. We also prepared a qualitative analysis based on the workshop and other engagement processes to inform a final report.

Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce Community Travel Project

We organized and facilitated a series of Yukon-wide online workshops that explored the challenges of inter-community transportation. We also analyzed data from the workshops, identifying themes to inform a final report for the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce.

Online Workshop

Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Act Forum on Cumulative Effects

We worked with the forum's organizing committee to design a workshop agenda, which brought together a broad range of experts on cumulative effects assessment, management and monitoring. We facilitated the three-day forum, which involved representatives from territorial and First Nation governments, as well as assessment and planning organizations. Our resulting report aimed to provide concrete recommendations on advancing the Yukon's approach to cumulative effects.
